I, too am besieged as of late.

I admit to not understanding SEO and Google rank so I really appreciate the article. (Again that sounded a little spammy, sorry).

I mostly write for me and in the past I didn't do much on the promotion side, but this year after MomCom, I've been taking it more seriously.

Again, I'm not a Spambot but I do appreciate the info. ;-)

TraciStarTracihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02119043204191845721noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13517164.post-10030463156713718102012-03-13T17:25:43.192-05:002012-03-13T17:25:43.192-05:00This is a great read for me, I have been wondering...This is a great read for me, I have been wondering how it is all supposed to work. I have done a couple guest posts for some different people and company blogs, but am now being approached through email by people wanting to guest post on my blog. I think it's mostly just self promotion on their end and in no way beneficial to me so far. This is a very helpful post for a blogging newbie like me, thank you dear!Whithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00327708537544496012noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13517164.post-18554777054527620132012-03-11T12:54:29.294-05:002012-03-11T12:54:29.294-05:00Thanks for posting this, I've wondered if my &...Thanks for posting this, I've wondered if my "guest-posters" might be paid to write but I post them once a week. I have a day designated for them. Here's a few of my terms for how I handle or balance all the issues...

#1- no affiliate links
#2- the post cannot be promotional for a business they own (aka: advertisment)
#3- post has to have value for my readers

I do allow a bio and they can link to their website from there. I've had both scenarios happen where someone sent me their "promotional post" and paid my fee but mostly I get posts written to be of value to my readers and in turn the author gets a link(s).

I want to stress that bloggers should check the website of the guest poster. I got one and I got a malicious type warning when visiting the site. Needless to say, that person won't be writing for me nor getting a link from me.Tracy @ Hall of Fame Momshttp://www.halloffamemoms.comnoreply@blogger.com
