Back to School, Back in Town, Back to Blogging!

We're back from vacation. We got in last night at midnight after a day of driving, picked up cat litter at Wal-Mart on the road so we could bring the poor caged kitty home. Upon walking into our apartment, we were hit with a moist wall of 90 degree air floating out the door... the AC had gone out while we were away (good thing the cat went with us on the trip or she might have been dead when we returned). We tried to sleep, but without a breeze outside and with only three windows on the same side of the apartments (not able to bring in some cooler air), we ended up piling back into the car at 3am to head to Wal-Mart for a high-powered fan. Some assembly was required, and it ended up being sub-standard (even at 40-something dollars). We should have opted for the box fan. We managed to sleep until 8am fitfully in our sweat... as the fan made it manageable. The maintenance crew arrived then and was able to get the air running after fiddling with the outside unit some. Maybe I should have taken them up on their offer to come last night at 2:30am? I just hated to put them out.

So we're glad to be back safely (Minga the Snott included), and we've got about a day and a half worth of bills, mail, unpacking, grocery stocking, and un-winding to do before starting back to work and school Wednesday AM. We're planning to get our Seasons Unit finished and maybe a few loose ends tied up before ending our 2005-2006 school year at the end of July. Grandma (Chickie) may come up in August to visit. Some friends of ours from Texas might come also. We have so many wonderful things to look forward to as we begin our 2006-2007 year.

As you might have guessed, I didn't get much else done on vacation other than visiting with family/friends and relaxing. So I'll plan to try and get the rest of the 2004-5 records up on the Homeschooling Series soon!

In the mean time, hop over to A Gracious Home to vote on the Blogs of Beauty Awards. I made a few nominations, but was unaware that you can only nominate ONE blog per category. This upset me, since there are just too many good blogs to nominate ONE for each category. Hence, the below list of blogs I wanted to give credit to for being my "runners up" in the following categories... I'm sorry they wouldn't allow TWO blogs!

Here they are...Heather's Blogs of Beauty Picks that weren't allowed to be entered as a tie: go visit them!

Next up is a series I'm putting together on "Why I Believe in 6-Day Creation" (due to some lengthy ping-pong posting that I've been drug into). It is way too much info for one post, so I'm doing it in about three or four. Be checking in for more on that this week!

God bless and Happy Monday! Hope your week is great.
