Carnival of Homeschooling for Oct. 30

I'm sending out an early invite to join me here at Sprittibee's Blog for the 96th Carnival of Homeschooling. My theme this time is going to be "The Yearbook Edition". This is where YOU come in: I need you to submit a yearbook photo with your post! Of course, I won't turn you away without a yearbook photo... of course. But we want as many people as possible to pop out those yearbooks and scan a photo!

I don't want your kids' co-op yearbook photos. No, mam.

MeI want a picture of YOU, blogging mom. One of those old 70's mug shots with you and your feathered bangs and pearl-snap fastened disco shirt with 4-inch triangular collar flaps. Or maybe you were an 80's girl and you have a yearbook photo with you in an Izod with Twist-A-Beads, blue mascara, a banana clip and your "Madonna" big hoop earrings. Bonus points if you have one with a ponytail on the side of your head! Who needs a costume when you can see the REAL THANG, baby. I went first, so now the ice is broken. That's me... back when I knew everything. What a goofy freshman.

I can't wait to see the photos start coming in. If you want to send the photos ahead of time so I can start working on the post format, I would really appreciate it. You can email them to me at longhorn.bee@gmail.com any time between now and the deadline for submissions for the October 30th carnival! Or you can just wait until after the submissions for that carnival begin (Monday night after 7pm on the 22nd) and send them WITH your submissions to the carnival's email at carnivalofhomeschooling@gmail.com. Don't send ME your submissions for the carnival until after the 22nd... but you can send the photos now at my personal email.

Okay, girl, I am a total COH newbie - I've done one. So I send you the picture and don't use it on my post, correct? Also, is there a theme or just anything homeschool related?

Dawn... email me the photo at my personal email which you already have. :) Then save your post for the 22nd (unless of course, you want to participate in the other two carnivals that will be going on between now and then... and in that case, send it now to Henry's carnival email and save me another one for later).

All you do for the carnival is just give them a link and summary of your best post for the week. There is no magic to it. It is just a way to get your blog's best posts spotlighted. :)

My theme is "The Yearbook Edition", but there will be another carnival on the 16th and 23rd hosted by others and I'm not sure what their themes are. You don't have to post something that has to do with the theme, though. Just send your best post and let the host figure out how to fit it in to their theme. :)

THANKS FOR PARTICIPATING! Aren't you excited to see everyone's school photos! ;)

You KNOW how brain-dead I am today. So, does this mean the best post you did THAT week? Or the best post you have overall that you will share for the carnival that week? Does that make ANY sense at all?

You can post any post you want on the Carnival of Homeschooling. It doesn't have to fit into a specific time-frame. You can post one from a long time ago or from yesterday.

However, SOME carnivals (the Christian Carnival is one of them) do not allow previous posts. They must be fresh ones from the week before the carnival. I was turned down for a post with them and that's why I quit posting with them. Every carnival has their own rules. I can't be bothered with dates and such. I just want to submit whatever I want. ;)

So the Carnival of Homeschooling is just up my alley!
