Obama Opposes Homeschool and Parental Rights

I hate politics. I hate talking about politics. I hate that people hate each other over politics. We have family members that I love dearly who avoid us during election months because of our faith and political beliefs. It breaks my heart. It is awful that the real issues are often completely danced around by candidates and we only hear what they WANT us to hear - to keep the 2-party political beast fed. I hate the system we have in place in this country to elect presidents. I think it should be illegal for companies to lobby congress. I hate that people can't be expected to just be good people and live and let live. I hate it that there is crime and that people take advantage of other people. I think whether 'blue' or 'red', we can ALL agree on the above!

In a world that was perfect, there wouldn't be "issues" to discuss. Unfortunately, we don't live in that world and likely never will this side of reality. There is no human utopia. The last time someone tried to make one, Adolf Hitler was the party leader. We all know how that one turned out.

So, in honor of remembering our not so distant brush with human atrocity ... and an honest understanding of just how quickly freedom can be eroded... and with a healthy dose of fear for the future that my children will be faced with... I bring you a final warning before voting day. I know that I normally don't talk about politics on this site and I apologize for the frank tone. I would rather blog about anything - including PMS and trips to the hospital to get a catheter - than politics. I am only talking about this today because my conscience will not allow me to remain silent. I'll talk issues, people. I am not afraid of issues. I think politicians should be FLAT OUT HONEST AND FRANK. Who cares who you offend? Just be truthful. Let the people decide.

I figured that I would voice my opposition to Obama one last time because:

I don't want my preschool child that is being born next Spring to have to go to school at age 2 or 3.

I don't want my 11 year old son to be forced to join the military at age 15.

I don't want the government to take away my right to homeschool (we've already seen what liberal judges can do to homeschooling in California this year - it was a very scary moment for an entire state).

I want to parent my kids the way I see fit; not the way the STATE sees fit.

I believe people should have the right to own a gun.

I don't want to go to jail for opposing Obama policy.

These are really scary times, people. I've never seen a worse candidate for presidency come this close to winning. And it seems that at least half of the nation is in complete and utter darkness - ignorant of his policy and hypnotized by his fluff. McCain looks like the candy man compared to this guy. Socialism or not - the stuff Obama wants to pass through is going to drastically change parental rights in this country.... and citizens' rights in general. He is definitely for change. Very, very scary changes.

Obama wants to force Americans in to U.N. treaties.

I for one do NOT want to be holding a hand over my chest pledging to be one world government under the United Nations. If the UN has control, there will be no homeschooling. If you know anything about the case in Germany, the UN treaty is what was used to seal the fate of many homeschool families - send them to jail, take their children away, etc. Obama's views may not be totally clear right now because his campaign has danced around the issue. He was questioned about homeschooling twice and denied to answer - skirting the discussion with educational rhetoric. I have heard the argument that his books states he's OK with homeschoolers. How can you be so sure that a tiny quote in his book about honoring choice is how he will really work when he's not courting voters any more? Here's Spunky's article which asks the same question.

Here is a recent email I just got... read it and try not to weep (especially if you are a homeschooling mother):

Obama OPPOSES homeschooling.

Don't believe me? Check this voting chart out - look specifically under "School Choice".

This is also a reflection of his feelings on PARENTAL RIGHTS!

Obama is pro-United Nations and will put into action the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. This horrible document (the same one that was used to convict German Homeschoolers and take their children away) gives "The State" the right to come into homes, evaluate it, and remove children if *they* deem necessary!!! It also lists the age of children going into the military at 15 years of age! Here is a link to the document --- read it in its entirety!!! Read it very, very carefully!!!!

And let's not forget the ABC Bill that makes it mandatory to send 2 and 3 year olds to public school!!!

Past Democratic Presidents were not able to inforce the above, BUT Obama + ultra liberal Democrats incharge of Congress + the ultra liberal judges Obama will appoint = Americans' rights taken away; especially PARENTS!!!

Hopefully in a few weeks we won't begin to become "WE THE PRISONERS" of the "HELPLESS STATES OF AMERICA" due to the Harlequin House of Representatives and the Socialist Senate... with Obama leading us all off a cliff.

I have this sick feeling in my stomach. Which is really sad since I would rather be joyous over the birth of our new child this spring. I would rather be enjoying the fall weather and looking forward to Thanksgiving coming up (my favorite holiday). It almost seems like I'm in a nightmare that I can't wake up from. Everywhere are reminders - bumper stickers, radio, emails, TV, billboards, conversation... Every time I think of election day, the hair on my neck stands up. Maybe they should move elections to October 31st this year. It would seem more fitting a date.

..And what's up with Obama's birth certificate - are you following the court case? I just want this election to be over. I hope my freedoms as an American won't be over with it.

Great post, Heather, and so true. I admit that I have been incredibly negligent in praying for the upcoming elections and I sure need to be on my knees. I have to make the effort to remember that God is still on the throne, still sovereign, and still above and beyond all that's happening here.

I look at my son who just turned 15, and cannot FATHOM him being enlisted. UGH!!

I completely agree with you. We also homeschool, and I too am very concerned that this country is close to electing Obama president. We're in for change - and it's not going to be a good thing at all.

I only pray that enough of us can be heard before it's too late.

Great post as usual, Heather!!

Did you change to fall colors on your blog? Something looks different.. maybe I should visit more instead of reading in my rss..

God bless!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts here Heather. I've linked this post in my obligatory political post... Yeah, it's really creepy to think of Obama being our next President and I'm afraid it's very likely. *sighs*

OMG!!! Wow, thanks for writing this in your blog heather! As a Canadian i had no idea of some of the stuff that comes with Obama. And that is downright scary indeed!
My thoughts are with you!

I recognize these feelings -- it's how lots of us felt when Bush got elected, and then elected again. I remember thinking it was like being in a nightmare and not being able to wake up. :)

It's hard, when we're so polarized as a country, and the candidates have been so demonized by both sides, not to feel scared when the person you perceive as the "good guy" looks like he's losing.

Republicans have had the reins for eight years, and I've been pretty much horrified with what they've come up with, from the war to the bailout. So, I'm thanking God that change is coming. :)

Hi,

I appreciated the information in this post. I don't know you, in fact this is only my second time on your blog. I want to seriously encourage you to read this your woman blog post about the election.

http://joyfullyathome.blogspot.com/2008/10/making-allowances.html

Not the bit about Sarah Palin, but the end. It was a huge comfort for me to meditate on the truth that she wrote.

I know that this comment sounds hokey, and I hate that. But I know what it is like to be pregnant and concerned about this election....my latest just turned 6 weeks.

I totally agree. I've been having thoughts long the lines of how in the heck are we going to be able to afford to move to a new country when all these changes take place. Where would we move to? How will be make money once we are there? How will we adapt to the new culture? And will we know that we need to leave before it's too late and they seal our borders? It's a scary outlook.

Lostcheerio,

These aren't the same kind of feelings you are talking about. I know what you mean, though - it is the same way I felt with Clinton (for 8 years). This is totally different than that. This is our FREEDOMS. I never thought Clinton was going to affect my quality of life or my freedoms. I just thought he was a morally bankrupt guy.

I just want to clarify that 1. I don't see McCain as the "good guy". Ron Paul is the good guy. Baldwin is the good guy. McCain just seems like the only thing to stop Obama - since he is the real fear and threat. Did you read the reasons why I am worried? Do you homeschool? Do you believe kids should be forced to go to preschool or join the military? Do you believe babies who survive abortion attempts should not be able to get medical care? These are the issues I'm talking about. Not Barak's personality, his race, his rhetoric, or anything about him other than the nitty gritty issues.

#2. I don't agree with the war. I am a Ron Paul supporter and he is against the war, too. I don't want our troops over there any more than you do. My husband was in Baghdad and it was horrible for me worrying for him. However, he met Iraqi people that were glad we came and he met Iraqi people that he befriended - some that still email with us. I think there will be good that comes of our presence there, but I want our troops home NOW just like you do. Did Obama vote for the war? I didn't.

#3. I am completely and totally and insanely against a buy out. I wrote my senators furiously against a buy out. I thanked my Republican house member for NOT caving in to Pelosi's threats and voting for the buy out. It was the Dems who stopped Congress that day to try and browbeat some handful of Democrats who actually had second thoughts and didn't vote for the buy out. I am outraged by the buy out. Pointing fingers about who was to blame is pointless. It was both sides. It wasn't just Republicans. There were plenty of Dems on the vote count. Just look it up and see .

I guess what I really need to do is sit and talk with a civil Democrat about what in the world they see in Barak. I'm just beside myself that someone could look past the infanticide, Global Poverty Act, and his intense pro-UN (possibly disastrous for American sovereignty) and still vote for him. I for one like my right to own a gun, homeschool, and raise my kids as a free parent - rights given to me by the Constitution and founding fathers... and God himself.

Anyone who would seek to change those rights is a bigger threat than a sold-out senator voting for a buy out. Most of those guys won't get re-elected anyway - if everyone is paying attention to me. Freedoms are lost forever when they are lost. Taxes can be repealed.

I pray that if Obama is elected, that those in the House and Senate will not be blinded by greed or socialistic ideas (as they have in the past) and will actually think about the people of this nation. Because with Obama holding the pen, I'm quite certain that whatever insanity comes out of the senate will get signed. I'm just sick over the fact that Ron Paul isn't a choice on this ticket. Crazy sick.

It really would be a double standard to arrest someone based on something they say especially after the things Michael Moore published through his film about 9/11. And just where is that ol' critic in the face of all these allegations? You'd think he'd be eating this material up!

It sure seems as though he's moving in the same direction as Hitler. What would be interesting is another letter, similar to the one about what it would be like if Obama won, is a letter on what extreme measures parents would have to go through to get out of America. Will they be able to get out? Should we move before January 2009? Just some interesting things.

A friend of mine said I sounded fanatical and extreme in these thoughts yet I told her this, "Yes and there was a time when we said cloning and micro chips in the skin was extreme too and yet here we are."

Sisterlisa said...

I really think we'll need to move if he gets in the oval office. The question is, will the country let us out?

There's always the cave and remote forest option... and the Mexicans seem to find it pretty easy to get in, wonder if it's that easy to get out.

I'm afraid we might end up living in the forest next year. Better than giving my kids over to the Public School System.

Dear Heather,

I know you don't post political thoughts very often - but I love it when you do!

I also know about the sick feeling you have. I have it too. The possible outcome of this election scares me!

It is amazing how much people are overlooking in order to support Obama. It certainly seems that he wants the government involved in every aspect of our lives. This is not the way to make our nation great.

I can hardly read the newspaper or watch the news anymore. The slanted coverage and lack of investigative journalism is horrible.

Thanks so much for this very informative post. I hope lots of people read it!

I am a Homeschooling Christian who is voting for Obama on November 4th. I am not here to make my case. But to correct one bit of information in your post.

Factcheck.org staffers have seen the Obama's birth certificate.
http://www.newsweek.com/id/154599
This was verified two months ago. It is appalling that misinformation is still being spread about this issue. As for the law suit, it was thrown out of court as "frivolous and not worthy of discussion"
http://tinyurl.com/5neu7u

The only other thing I want to say is to encourage you to go forth and cast an educated vote based on conviction, not on fear. God has not given us a spirit of fear but of love and of power and of a sound mind.

I have given long thought to all the scenarios. What if McCain wins? What if Obama proves to be what all the opponents say he is?
I still have no fear. No matter the outcome.

Grace and Peace!

I was getting ready to post links about the birth certificate, but luckily someone already did. It's important for either side to research well before writing posts such as this. For instance, the part about being enlisted at the age of 15? Where's the proof. It doesn't ring true.

And please, don't compare him to Hitler. That's just wrong in so many ways.

Thanks for your post. I posted a great video this week about Obama's speech to Planned Parenthood that had me flying to the ceiling in outrage. You can see it on my blog at www.thehomeschooldaily.com. I hope more people get the word out about the drastic changes that will affect our "freedom" to live our faith in America if Obama is president. American's cannot be naive. The economy is one thing, it will have it's up and downs, but democrats are not the answer. I have a business degree and have studied economics. Social programs do not help the market improve.
Thanks for your enthusiasm about this topic.

Suni - I applaud you for your decision. I'm glad to see people who are actually looking at the facts and making good choices. I have done the same with the Republican Party. I'm sick to the gills with the higher ups becoming corrupt and doing things that are against the party platform. I was a delegate and voted on the party platform at the COUNTY level. I know what they SHOULD be doing. The ones in the White House and Senate are not always lining up with the people's will. It is good to be able to see through the fluff to the real issues and KNOW where you stand on them. That way we can hold them all accountable. I would LOVE for Baldwin to win this thing. He truly is the best choice.

Sislisa - Yes, I also find it funny that so many Democrats are ultra-hostile towards Republican voters. So much so that on some of the websites I have been to there is only name calling and cussing - and horrid allegations. I don't find any of that helpful. If we all just talked about ISSUES, it would save us all from stereotyping. Earlier someone thought that just because I oppose Obama, I believe in the Iraq war. I think that there are a huge number of Republicans who are against the war. That's why Bush's approval ratings dropped so drastically. That's why you had such a huge difference in voting at the primaries - for Huck, Paul, McCain and Romney. Huck and Paul are also for a fair tax - which would have really been good for America... especially NOW. And Paul is for doing AWAY with the IRS! Why would Democrats not want that? Makes no sense. What I heard was that there were droves of Democrats crossing the line to vote in the Republican primary for McCain. Now they are leaving us with the least liked of all the Republican candidates to pick from against Obama. Sad, but many will vote for McCain because of what Obama stands for. Most Republicans I have spoken with would not have chosen him for any other reason.

On leaving the country, I would just make sure you have passports for all of your family. I don't know where you would go. My husband said that he thinks that it is so sad that North Koreans are escaping in to CHINA for religious freedom and freedom of thought. CHINA hunts Christians down and puts them in jail - only accepts their state mandated church. But the levels of house churches there are skyrocketing despite harsh persecution and even death of church members. I hope that it doesn't ever get that bad here... and I really think that with all the headlines (did you see that link to the court case in Canada on my post?), there isn't anywhere to run. I like to talk about Australia... but I'm sure they have their problems there, too.

brookelorren - Yeah, and I hear there are communities up in the Oregon mountains where you can live forever without a social security number. LOL Good luck on that cave living. See? We are "de-evolving" - there really are such things as cave-people.

Stacy - An Aussie??? So tell us about Australia and the state of politics there. Do you have a guest house for a family of 4.5? ;) If you are over here with us in America, I'm so sorry for you. Sounds like it from your comment. Hope you won't blame at least half of the nation for whatever happens this election. Even more, I hope that God spares us an Obama presidency.

Cynthia....

I thought about your reply. I don't wish to make it sound like I am judging you, but I can't imagine a Christian voter who would vote for a man that forces hospital staff to dump LIVE infants in wash rooms and broom closets to suffocate after their mothers unsuccessfully try to abort them. He refuses to allow the medical staff to provide care for BABIES that could live with limited medical care. To me, that is murder, pure and simple. I'm not trying to repeal the right of a woman to get an abortion in cases where it is necessary - rape or incest being the two that come to mind. But to allow horrid suffering of an innocent child is pure evil in my opinion. His birth certificate is a non-issue compared to his ultra-liberal pro-death beliefs. I had not heard that the court case was thrown out. The last article from WND was in October, so as far as I knew, the case was open. I have seen the copies of the birth certificate and heard that he went overseas on an Indonesian passport. However, those are MINOR issues compared to his Global Poverty Act (that no one seems willing to discuss), his infanticide support (that no one seems willing to discuss), and his socialistic ideals (spreading the wealth around).

I am glad that you aren't living in fear... but certainly, you should search out the truth - as a Christian. God calls us to know the Truth so it can set us free.

Karen - I'm not comparing Obama to Hitler as a person. I'm comparing the masses who are voting without understanding what he stands for with the masses that put Hitler in his position of power. Read some of the articles on this post (namely the one about collective shame) to see more of where I'm coming from. A law professor wrote it - from Cambridge. Obama will ratify United Nations treaties. I'm going to put another post on here with some of the wording from the PDF of the Convention of the Rights of a Child so that you can see what I mean. Stay tuned for the next comment... (it addresses your question about 15 year olds in the military)...

Anne3boys... Thanks for the tip on the video. I'll come by and view it.

Sprittibee said...

PLEASE READ... QUOTES FROM THE CONVENTION OF THE RIGHTS OF A CHILD - BY THE UNITED NATIONS... (My notes in italics)...

States Parties shall take all appropriate measures to ensure that the child is protected against
all forms of discrimination or punishment on the basis of
the status, activities, expressed
opinions, or beliefs of the child's parents, legal guardians, or family members.

Article 2, section 2
___

In the case of the German homeschooling family, the UN Treaty was used to say that the family was not allowed to homeschool the children because they were instilling religious values on their children. As a Christian, you should take this threat very seriously. It may be coming to a court room near you... and a homeschool near you - if Obama has his way.

Read this quote from the German consul general, Wolfgang Drautz:

"the German government has a legitimate interest in countering the rise of parallel societies that are based on religion."

And from a WorldnetDaily Article (click here for the article German Homeschooling Cases Updated)

___

States Parties shall assure to the child who is capable of forming his or her own views the right
to express those views freely in all matters affecting the child, the views of the child being given
due weight in accordance with the age and maturity of the child.

Article 12, section 1

___

So it is the states' job to make sure your child can practice and form their views (regardless of yours as their parent). Sounds a lot like Hitler to me!

Here's a quote for you from the Hitler Era:

In 1937, the dictator said, "The Youth of today is ever the people of tomorrow. For this reason we have set before ourselves the task of inoculating our youth with the spirit of this community of the people at a very early age, at an age when human beings are still unperverted and therefore unspoiled. This Reich stands, and it is building itself up for the future, upon its youth. And this new Reich will give its youth to no one, but will itself take youth and give to youth its own education and its own upbringing."

___

To this end, States Parties shall:
(a) Encourage the mass media to disseminate information and material of social and cultural
benefit to the child
and in accordance with the spirit of article 29;

Article 17, (a)

____

Again, indoctrination. I don't let my kids watch TV for that very same reason. They have never seen Lost, American Idol, House, and whatever else trash that the networks dish out. They only watch movies that we pre-screen, comics that we pre-screen when they are at relatives houses, and we play pre-screened video games. Some would argue at the UN that I'm in breach with the Convention of the Rights of a Child by not allowing the MASS MEDIA to help educate and indoctrinate my kid. What do you think? Who's right is it to educate your child?
____

States Parties recognize the right of the child to education, and with a view to achieving this
right progressively and on the basis of equal opportunity, they shall, in particular:
(a) Make primary education compulsory and available free to all;

Article 28, section 1, (a)

____

They aren't talking about homeschooling here. Trust me.
____

States Parties shall promote and encourage international cooperation in matters relating to
education, in particular with a view to contributing to the elimination of ignorance and illiteracy
throughout the world and facilitating access to scientific and technical knowledge and modern
teaching methods
. In this regard, particular account shall be taken of the needs of developing
countries.

Article 28, section 3

___

So what if you teach your kid in a way that they deem unfit? What if you teach contrary to a modern method? What if you teach them an opposing viewpoint about a certain subject? Seems like all they have to do is step in now - and take your kids away for their own safety. Since you won't have a gun (Obama is against you owning small arms and so is the UN), what are you doing to do when they come? Go to jail? Run for the border? By then, it may be too late.
___

2. States Parties shall take all feasible measures to ensure that persons who have not attained
the age of 15 years do not take a direct part in hostilities.

3. States Parties shall refrain from recruiting any person who has not attained the age of 15 years
into their armed forces
. In recruiting among those persons who have attained the age of 15
years but who have not attained the age of 18 years, States Parties shall endeavor to give
priority to those who are oldest.

Article 38, sections 2 & 3

___

By ratifying this treaty, if they enforce a draft in the USA, we will be obliged to recruit kids who are 15 and up. By the time this happens, it may not be just boys, either. Are you willing to be party to the adoption of this document by the USofA? By voting for Obama, you're making your voice heard loud and clear that you approve of international law in America.
___

States Parties undertake to submit to the Committee, through the Secretary-General of the
United Nations
, reports on the measures they have adopted which give effect to the rights
recognized herein and on the progress made on the enjoyment of those rights

Article 44, section 1

___

State Parties are OUR states. The ones that used to be FREE STATES. Now they are in submission to the UN on parental rights. And not only that, but our kids belong to the UN because they can come in and subjectively read these rules how they see fit and use international force to take our kids from us and place them wherever they will be more indoctrinated. That is the truth. Read what is happening to German homeschoolers and see for yourself. I'm not making this stuff up - as much as I wish I were. These are cold hard facts from 2008. Not science fiction.
___

An amendment adopted in accordance with paragraph 1 of the present article shall enter into
force when it has been approved by the General Assembly of the United Nations and accepted
by a two-thirds majority of States Parties
.
3. When an amendment enters into force, it shall be binding on those States Parties which have
accepted it, other States Parties still being bound by the provisions of the present Convention
and any earlier amendments which they have accepted.

Article 50, section 2 & 3

___

Now, to make amendments to this document since it is already in force, 2/3 of the states (not just American states but international ones, too - all around the globe) have to ratify it. If it is an anti-Christian amendment - it won't take much to get 2/3 if you include all of the Middle East and Africa in the vote count. So this document is a living one - that can change upon the whim of the UN. It is a beast that can't be tamed by reason. It is the end of our parental rights and American sovereignty. Hitler was right. The youth of our nation are its greatest treasure. They are freedom's only chance. If we adopt this measure, we are enslaving them to international law before many are even born.

Heather, you say:

These aren't the same kind of feelings you are talking about. I know what you mean, though - it is the same way I felt with Clinton (for 8 years). This is totally different than that. This is our FREEDOMS.

Trust me, they are the same kind of feelings. You don't see it the same way, I understand, but in 2004 we also felt it was about our freedoms. We were complete baffled at how the country could re-elect such a lying, fumbling disaster, and there were lots of people talking about "moving to Europe." It's hard for you to see it, but so much of your original message is so familiar to me, really.

You say:

Did you read the reasons why I am worried?

Yes.

Do you homeschool?

Yes.

Do you believe kids should be forced to go to preschool or join the military?

Show me where Barack Obama has said he will force me anyone to put their children in school. Show me where he has said he will draft 15-year-olds.

Do you believe babies who survive abortion attempts should not be able to get medical care?

No. Barack Obama doesn't either. It's hard being a legislator because you have to vote against things you believe in if the bill is bad. This is why both sides can say "He voted against the troops!" and "He voted to raise taxes!" He voted against a version of this bill, yes. There was another version that he did agree with. Are you confident enough that you understand the nuances here that you can really stand up here in public and accuse him of wanting babies to die in closets? Learn about the issue.

At the time this bill came up, there were already legal protections in place for babies born alive. The bill was introduced in Illinois because of accusations from one nurse in one hospital. Even the Republican senator who sponsored the bill said that those who voted against it did not favor infanticide. The Illinois Medical Society also opposed it, because of specifics involving an erosion of the doctor/patient relationship. It wasn't a good bill for Illinois at the time, especially since these babies were already protected under the law to the point that *not* caring for a baby born alive was a felony. This is kind of like all the times that McCain voted "against the troops" -- not because he doesn't like our military but because the bill itself wasn't any good.

Really, still ready to stand up and call him a baby killer?

You say:

I guess what I really need to do is sit and talk with a civil Democrat about what in the world they see in Barak.

Coming into any civil discussion shouting about infanticide and declaring "Obama opposes homeschooling!" (which is also a lie) is not a great way to invite people to share their ideas. :D

I realize you're beside yourself. I invite you to calm down, get the facts, and relax. Your fears are based on smears. Obama is not going to take away your children, your gun, or your constitutional rights. This is coming out of a whole lot of hysteria and rumor. I don't want to argue with you any more, because I don't want to be labeled an "uncivil Democrat" and I'm also sure you've made up your mind, but I hope you can find some peace.

Lydia Netzer said...

He refuses to allow the medical staff to provide care for BABIES that could live with limited medical care. To me, that is murder, pure and simple.

Are you kidding? In Illinois, this behavior was a felony before the bill in question was introduced, and it is still a felony.

You're looking for a civil Democrat to discuss this with -- and you're honestly going to say that Barack Obama forces hospital staff to kill live infants? Are you insane?

One nurse at one hospital (Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL) complained that abortions were resulting in live infants who were allowed to die. This was already illegal. A state senator introduced a bill to make it... more illegal? The bill failed, opposed by state senators from both parties and the Illinois Medical Society, because it was *not necessary* and its language challenged Roe v. Wade and messed with Patient/Doctor confidentiality. Afterward, it was still illegal.

Legislation was not needed. What was needed was for the *felons* who worked at that hospital who were breaking the existing law to be prosecuted for murder, and sent to jail.

But... now Barack Obama is forcing hospital staff to suffocate infants in closets?

Please, let's be realistic. You know there is no way that kids will be recruited at the age of 15 here in the United States. (And yes, I read the document - including Article 38.) It would never happen. And no, I'm not being brainwashed. I will walk into that booth, with my eyes wide open and vote for Obama.

It's time for Pink America. Forget Red States. Obama's election is illegal. We need another Tea Party. Dump these voting computers in the Harbor. Look at all those people power revolutions in Kiyeph and Sayam, Orange and Rose. We are pink. We must take to the streets and prevent this illegal alien from enforcing Shariyah laws in our country and arming all those terrorists and socialists. The Demonrats fixed this election when they lost the Florida recount, when they passed HAVA. They messed the economy when they took the House. George Beller.

Lostcheerio - I appreciate your civility. I have had much, much worse in the comment section, so I am glad to talk with those who give an honest stab at being nice.

If the things you say are true about the infanticide thing, that may be one particular case. However, I heard him say from his own lips that he wouldn't want his children burdened with a baby. I know what his voting record stands for... and he has been labeled the most radical voter on the abortion topic. I read his quotes about the infanticide issue, also. His opposition was based upon his belief that the bill would give legal status as a human to the infant in the womb. You just can't explain it away. Planned Parenthood was brought about by racist people who believe in eugenics - the wiping out of the minorities and poor. Partial birth abortion is atrocious. He believes that those things are OK. Whether there was one bill that was bad or not - his stance on the practices is there.

And...

You failed to comment on this:

his Global Poverty Act
his socialistic ideals (spreading the wealth around)

His financial policies are going to damage businesses that provide jobs, bring astounding spending increases, fatten government, etc. The taxes on the poverty act alone will be money that we spend over and above what the US already gives overseas to third world nations to combat hunger. It will be monies given to the UN who have been charged with atrocities themselves. As a precursor we will have to ratify treaties (including the one that I hightlighted in an earlier post - please read - as it affects homeschoolers and parents in the USA if we ratify it). Obama was the one who SPONSORED the Global Poverty Act. He is pro-UN. The UN will take away American freedoms. He may not be preaching from a hilltop that he is going to take your money and your gun... but he makes comments that allude to his viewpoints...

" it’s not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

See here:
Obama wants guns banned

The facts are there. I'm not in the dark. I know that God is in control, though... and ultimately, my vote and my prayer are my contribution. He is the one who leads... and I trust that whoever is chosen will be chosen because HE is still on the throne and has a reason for it. Don't worry - my peace is in God. I'm going to be OK, either way... come what may.

I have not read the Global Poverty Act but I welcome discussion on the socialism accusation. I posted a big long thing about it on my own blog -- I don't want to weigh you down here with too many loooooong comments so I won't repost it, but I welcome your comments: http://www.littleblueschool.com

Thanks for posting links to these documents! I jokingly told my dad when he came to visit to get out of my house, because he said he was voting for Obama. We explained (& even showed him some youtube videos) how Mr. Obama feels about partial birth abortions, etc.

I'll be glad when it's over too.

I'm with you all the way. This is where the socialistic programming & the situational ethics taught in public schools has lead us. What is so very shocking is the people who consider themselves Christians who plan to vote for Obama, sadly mistaking that there will ever be a political solution to the world's problems.

Another famous socialist of today:

(quote from Wikipedia)

"Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez and Bolivian President Evo Morales, for instance, refer to their political programs as socialist. Chávez has coined the term "21st century socialism" (sometimes translated more literally as "Socialism of the 21st century"). After winning re-election in December 2006, President Chávez said, "Now more than ever, I am obliged to move Venezuela's path towards socialism."[49]"

One thing I have taught my children is that when they follow a kind or positive comment with the word BUT, it usually nullifies the previous kind or positive comment.

In other words, when someone says, I don't want it to seem like I am judging you BUT ... I can usually be assured that a judgment is coming.

I have am immune to it though. This past week I have been told I cannot possibly be hearing from God, it has been implied that I have not sought out the truth and I have been referred to as a "so-called Christian voter."

Voting for different candidates is not what divides us. Questioning one another's faith does though. I would not dare to suggest that anyone who votes for a different candidate than I is not a true Christian or is not hearing from God.

I see that the misinformation about Barack Obama's vote on that the Infants Born Alive Act has been clarified.

Now, I leave you all to your fear and worry. Happy Voting.

Well said. I don't homeschool but I don't want to option taken away either. I have an almost 2 year old and another on the way and it is scary to think of the world they might grow up in. I pray he isn't elected. It is scary how many good people have fallen for his rhetoric hook, line and sinker. I wish they could see who he really is without the rest of us having to suffer through 4 years of him in office.

Some facts about Obama's education plan:

1. "Zero to Five Plan: The Obama-Biden comprehensive "Zero to Five" plan will provide critical support to young children and their parents. Unlike other early childhood education plans, the Obama-Biden plan places key emphasis at early care and education for infants, which is essential for children to be ready to enter kindergarten. Obama and Biden will create Early Learning Challenge Grants to promote state "zero to five" efforts and help states move toward voluntary, universal pre-school." [Editor's note: what's wrong with encouraging early learning? He's not proposing FORCING anyone, just providing the support]

Source: http://www.barackobama.com/issues/education/#early-childhood

2. "Support High-Quality Schools and Close Low-Performing Charter Schools: Barack Obama and Joe Biden will double funding for the Federal Charter School Program to support the creation of more successful charter schools. An Obama-Biden administration will provide this expanded charter school funding only to states that improve accountability for charter schools, allow for interventions in struggling charter schools and have a clear process for closing down chronically underperforming charter schools. [editor's note: isn't this same treatment as public schools in No Child Left Behind?] An Obama-Biden administration will also prioritize supporting states that help the most successful charter schools to expand to serve more students."

Source: http://www.barackobama.com/issues/education/#early-childhood

3. "Barack Obama believes free, quality public education is the heart of the American promise. He supports public charter schools, but not vouchers." [editor's note: IMHO, this is just a difference in opinion about funding the choice homeschooler's make to not send their children to public school. I would interpret this that Obama prefers to support our free public school system rather than optional private schooling (homeschooling, religious, waldorf, montesarri, etc)]

1. Barak's UNIVERSAL Preschool is only going to increase taxes in the midst of a recession. Not good for America and where are the parents of these 0-2 year olds he proposes to send to school? Why raise kids at all? Maybe we should just leave them all at the hospital and let the state do it.

2. Double funding = higher taxes. Homeschooling is FREE to the government. Intervention is not necessary. Accountability = government intervention and regulation. Do you wish to have more intervention and regulation by the US government in your life? My school is my life. Homeschooling is a way of life. I don't need uncle Sam telling me how to do it or what is an acceptable way to do it. There are already laws in place, we don't need more of them. Obama is for bigger and more meddlesome government. The facts are clear.

3. The heart of the 'American promise' is free PUBLIC education? I guess my kids are missing out on the 'American promise'. Because I homeschool them and it sure isn't FREE. I don't get tax refunds for paying in to the failed school system, either. I pay property taxes to fund the 'American promise' and consistently, homeschooling outperforms the kids who are part of that 'promise'. Seems like us free-thinking radical homeschoolers are doing a fine job without government intervention. Your quote also proves that Obama thinks of nothing but PUBLIC schooling and PUBLIC charters. He is not homeschool friendly. He is not the best choice for protecting homeschool freedoms. I'm not telling you who to vote for, but I will tell you that socialism leads to communism. Socialism is the government owning and controlling everything. Look at Cuba, China, Russia. Why would we fight for freedom and then take on the bondage of slavery to the government? I'll take the constitution and our rights over socialism any day.

I don't know where you found some of your "facts" about Obama's views: where does he say that your 15 year old must join the military? Where does he say that your 2 year old must attend school? Come on, facts are fine, just present us with some that are credible.

Sprittibee said...

Anonymous, take time to read through the comments. The one about the UN Convention of the Rights of a Child has the 15 year old military thing in it. A candidate doesn't have to state something openly for you to see through their belief system.

Unbelievable! I am just flabbergasted by what I've just read. Call me whatever you may, but I just don't pay attention that closely. I leave it up to God to lay on my heart whom I should vote for, and it has always been McCain. I never could trust Obama. Just always a bad feeling. I am a Christian homeschooling mom. In fact, we just pulled our children out of the public school system for various reasons, but to think I would ever have to put them back in sickens me! We rather enjoy beginning our day with Bible study and singing our Bible verses and praying to God before we ever start academics. To think of America changing so drastically is frightening. But I can believe it! We noticed how during the school hours, your kids don't seem like yours, but rather the government's...public school that is. It has been liberating having them home with us and teaching them ourselves. The time with them has been priceless!

What is happening before our eyes? I sure hope you Obama supporters know what you are talking about! If he is elected, I do pray it isn't as bad as it seems....I would really like to believe that. But I don't. It's scarey.

I'm not sure how, but I do know we will be OK either way. God will have victory....He always will. I don't know what we will have to face or if we will even see His victory, but I know He will have it!

All we can do is pray for God's hand in this and for our continued freedom....whether you are Republican or Democratic. Either way, we are His! God's children. God is not Republican or Democratic, He is for all humanity. God bless you and keep you.

Heather,

Thanks for your post.

I think it is very telling how Joe the Plumber was treated for asking one simple question. His entire life was turned upside-down in two seconds.

I think it's very telling that Obama told his followers to get up in people's faces. http://www.captainscomments.com/comments/661.asp

Also telling is the formation of these Truth Squads-
http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2008/09/missouris_obama_truth_squads_2.html

Jessica's story confirmed what I've already felt in my gut.
http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=77825

I've also been reading about the New Party that Obama was part of (archived internet documents prove this)...can you say PROGRESSIVE? I've done my homework if anyone wants links.

Reid and Pelosi and Obama...OH MY! Oh dear...I just can't imagine what they will do, but God knows what will happen. God knows our concerns. God knows and we trust in His name (no matter what happens to us).

I am right there with you. I have never been afraid for my freedoms before.

Also, to those commenting about the infanticide bill...okay, so let's say Obama doesn't support it...that doesn't matter to me because he DOES support partial birth abortion...is that more humane/stomachable? Have you seen a video of that lately?

I think it's LAME that you took down my comment commending Lostcheerio... Nice blog you're running.
I said nothing offensive... You post / people comment... That's how it's supposed to work in this blogosphere correct? Give your other followers the ability to see that Lostcheerio isn't alone.

Sprittibee said...

Anonymous... I don't normally take down comments, but you sounded really smug and you are unwilling to share your identity. You also said that everything I spoke of in my post was a lie. That's not true. If you want to praise Lostcheerio for her stance, I suggest that you go to her blog. She most likely would be glad for it and be able to read it. What you did was praise her in here and call me a liar - not for her to have "friends" but for you to ridicule me.

I am not some uneducated or uniformed voter as you believe. Nor am I some sort of cookie cutter religious type that can't criticize politicians if they go by the name of Republican. I do my research and I am of a free mind. Go read the UNBIASED FREE MARKET voting guides from the candidates own answers to simple questions and you will see what worries most conservatives ("far right wingers" as you put it). There needs to be civility in politics. We all have to live with each other after the election. Whether we are living in a socialist country or not. One day you may be wanting all those "right wingers" to come to your aid in fighting off oppression - that is sure to come with the death of capitalism and the revocation of our freedoms.

Thanks for your post. I found it by googling "parental rights obama" today (election day). We must not live in fear, however. If he wins as predicted, and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is adopted, we must pray, trust, and *fight* if necessary to maintain our parental oversight. God is ultimately in control of all of this...including what kind of future our homeschooled American children will face. His ways are not our ways, neither our thoughts his thoughts. But He will work it all out for our good, one way or the other. He loves us and He is for us. May His perfect will be done and may we do our part according to His will. God bless us all!

Is anyone packing their bags and heading for Canada before they seal the borders?

Sprittibee said...

Daryl - Canada would be a bad choice as they already have socialism there and not long ago a court case sided against a father who was only trying to ground his daughter for putting photos of herself on a dating site. The judge said he had no right to punish her for that. Link is on my post. Check it out. The best choice if you were wanting to head out as an x-pat would be Australia, I guess. Europe is out. Central/South America is out. Africa is out. Middle East is out. Looks like the times are closing in on us. But that is what we should expect. My husband says he wants to go live in Israel. Ha! Either way you look at it, God is still on the throne, though. I was disappointed last night, but somehow had a double portion of peace. This is what I told my children, who were very distraught:

"Sometimes the night has to get darker so that the stars shine brighter."

We are those stars. May we please our Father in Heaven by our actions, words, and thoughts in these coming days. May we stand for truth.

I woke up this morning to hear John Carter interviewed on the Austin 590 radio show. He's my House Rep (that I voted for - who is a true conservative and voted AGAINST the buyout). They asked him if he was 'ready to join the Obama revolution'. This was his response:

"No sir, I think my job the next 4 years is to speak out and prevent America from following Obama and the Democrats off the cliff of socialism."

I think that is all of our jobs. May we be ever vigilant and always abide in Him. 1 + God is a majority.

I do not home school, do not believe in home schooling, am not a Christian, and do not think that Christianity is good for our children or future. I am a political science major though, and I have a very important paper due tomorrow on the subject of the presidency and congress, and I was looking for film information regarding fictional portrayals of presidents in film. I read this entire post and all the responses, and it advanced me nothing. Obama rocks though, have a good day folks.
