Boring Update: House, Job, Camera & Baby

I thought I would leave a boring update for anyone still checking in to see if we are surviving the whirlwind. We're in the Austin area this week, staying with friends and family while we wait on our closing for the house. We may be the happy owners of a new home as early as next week some time.

My camera is missing... leaving me with less tools for interesting blog material. I've been quite upset with myself for loosing it due to the wonderful photo material all around me. I can usually find something ANYWHERE that is interesting enough for a photo. The sunlight on the cat's whiskers... the mustang grapes along a wooded path... even the odd angle of a modern building against the sky: all these things beg to be photographed.

As for the job, Kevin's first day went well and he is excited about the prospect of being somewhere 'LONG TERM'. He is glad to be learning something exciting and new - which will provide him with more than just a paycheck... but also a challenge. He'll be working daytime hours and getting most weekends off, also. That will be a welcome change to our school schedule. No more questions as to when or if Daddy will get home or be off work. This year (aside from the little Critter's arrival), we may actually be able to put in 5-day weeks and get a whole lot more accomplished.

I also made my first appointment to go see a doctor about the pea in the pod. I hate switching doctors, but the one I am going to has been highly recommended by three people I know. I'm finding that thinking of baby has me eating healthier and exercising more. I actually lost a pound yesterday... even after cooking Spanish Rice (using brown rice and fresh veggies fried in olive oil), tacos and beans. We've been hiking and walking some, and I'm trying to avoid fast food and cokes as much as possible. Maybe by early next week I might have a delivery date or other news to announce.

Hope you are enjoying your summer! Ours has been a very strange one, but we are thankful for so many things (despite the chaos that appears at first glance).

Welcome to Austin from a fellow Austinite! I have been researching / getting up the courage to homeschool this year and came across your blog. It has been a great help to me and makes me think we can actually do this! Thank you for sharing your lives and experience.

Heather!!!!! I am sooooooo excited for you! Congratulations! AND I am soooooooo sorry about your camera. I totally understand. I'd feel like my right arm had been cut off. I'd rather have a camera than the internet. I pray that you will find it and soon. I can't wait to hear more about your new house AND your new little one! Much love, Patricia

You are welcome Tina and thanks for the welcome. ;) The Austin area is my very favorite area in Texas, so I am very thankful to be here. Best of wishes for your first year homeschooling!

Patricia - Thanks sweetie. I love your pictures. Hope you feel better soon. I may just have to go buy a new camera... :) Although, I am not sure I could justify the expense.

So sorry to hear you lost the camera! That must be just awful!

Glad your dh's job is going good.. That is a blessing!

And, do you need a little cheering up? ring, ring? ; )

Love you,
Jocelyn

Glad to hear things are good for Kevin at work. That would be so cool if you had a house next week!

Hugs & prayers,

Father in heaven, You know right where that camera is. Please bring it to mind so this family may continue to record the blessings You give them every day! I pray this is Jesus' name!

I agree with Boaz's Ruth . . . a ticker? I guess you would need a due date first.

I have been out of the loop for 3 weeks or so due to a loooooong case of "The Man is at Home". Today he is fishing and he'll be back to work on Monday and our lives will normalize somewhat. Then I can scan the blogs at least a little more regularly.

Anyway, I said all that to say, "HAPPY BABY!"

:-)

Thanks for the wellwishes everyone. ;) Sorry that I've not been able to reply very much to comments during this transition. :) I sure appreciate them, though. It has been a nice diversion reading everyone's thoughts and knowing that some of you are praying.

God bless.
