* All My Favorite Things Collage *
We already have the most awesomest printer (the Kodak EasyShare 5300)... but since we made everyone else work so hard for this contest, we decided it would only be fair to do a project ourselves. Of course, I can't win the contest... but I'm sending in a bogus entry just for kicks! I love doing creative projects (and as you can see, I work best under pressure... which is why this post is up just hours before the contest deadline!). The kids enjoy letting mom work herself up into a deadline panic and then getting a WHOLE DAY OFF to work to their little hearts content on ARTSY-FARTSY stuff.
Today was a fun-day. We did our Bible, Devotional, Math... and then we jumped in the car with our printed photos and made our way to the teacher's supply store. They laminated our pictures for our project and we picked out some piggy-pink butcher block paper (since Morgan's room is mainly pink). We had fun cutting laminated squares out. The scissors slide on lamination (which is really groovy if you are a kid at heart). The children (including me) thought the cutting part was just as fun as picking out their favorite pictures and arranging them on Morgan's door-poster. We also enjoyed coming up with cute phrases or captions for each shot. It was a bit of a giggle-fest. My son, who originally was NOT interested in this project is now thoroughly jealous of his sister's "way cool closet door". He asked me to do his door tomorrow. That isn't going to happen, but I promised him we would get around to it eventually.
Below is full-shot of the final collage... "larger than life" (or at least larger than us). It is a great reminder to her of all the people she loves, the places she has been, the things she likes, and even the foods she enjoys eating. I laminated the photos so that if she ever decides to take them all down, she can save them forever.
All you need to do this project is a bunch of digital photos, a printer, some scissors, some packing tape, some butcher block paper, and a place to go take the pictures to laminate them.
Hope you enjoyed the printer contest. You still have a few hours to get your projects in if you haven't yet!

Awww ... that is so sweet! What a fun project. We might have to do something like that just cuz. :D
That is adorable! Great job!!!
That girl of yours is such a sweetie. I'm sure she is very proud of her new door decoration!
love that! great idea to hang it on the closet door.
:) It was fun. The kids were so NOT stressed today with only ONE thing on the list. :) It was a nice "breather" in a very busy week! Next up is a field trip to a air strip and a "culture and country" potluck presentation day! We have our share of "to-dos" this week. :) Plus, my sister is coming in town (she hasn't been to my house in years).
Your daughter's face says it all: this was fun, and those photos are very important to her. What a great idea!
Wow! That is neat-o!!!
I don't know if I want to show my kids or not!!
Ok, I will... it looks like a blast!! Now, if I just had that printer to print of all these photos I have stored.....

Very fun project. My kids LOVED the project day as well--need to remember to do that more often.

So KEWL! I love it!
LOL@"Artsy-Fartsy"!
Thanks guys! I'm busy trying to get some non-blogger and non-contest related friends of mine to help me judge the contest. It is so hard. Everyone did a great job. ;) Check back in here later today and see if there is a winner!!!
Awwww, how sweet. The project looks wonderful, and M is as sweet as ever.
I will show it to IG ... She misses M & K a lot !
Kisses from the Gs ...
Hey Gs! We sure miss you guys, too! I keep forgetting the time difference and in the middle of school, I think... OH NO! It is 4 pm! I forgot to call again!!!! AHHHH.
I need to get an alarm clock on my desk set to your time!
It is 4:13 right now and they are doing Italian lessons on the library website... :)
Girl, don't keep us in suspense any longer! :-)
If my daughters saw that awesome closet door, they would harass me about never printing any photos!
OH my gosh!
That is just the neatest idea.
Ha. Now to figure out where/how/when I can make it happen in our house.
