Guess What This Is...?

mango

I'm on vacation visiting family this week, so I thought I would share a photo Friday and Saturday while we are out of town. This is a most interesting plant that we discovered tonight in one of our family-member's yards. Does anyone know what it is? I do, but I'm not telling.

Pokeberry!

Watch out, it's poisonous and it will NEVER EVER come out of clothes if your kids feel like painting with them (just like cavemen, Mom!)

not sure what it is, but it's pretty! Your blog is wonderful.

I have a general home school question: I am part of a great co-op in Sugar Land Tx and we meet weekly. We are having an open house on the 29th of April. Is there anyway to let some folks know about this on your blog?
Thanks!

Grapes/grapevine???? Just a wild guess, for sure!

Wrong! It is a MANGO tree! Someone in our family planted a Mango and it is a HUGE tree in their back yard now. It stands well over 15 feet high and has lovely waxy dark green leaves and these tiny mangos budding from the remnants of flower blooms. I can't wait to see if they grow full size so we can eat one. I never would have imagined they could grow in Texas.

Farmgirl - I am not sure that notifying people of a local co-op meet would really work on my blog - since it isn't a local thing... if you could see my stats, you would understand that the visitors and readers of the blog are VERY diverse - all over the world. Thank you so much for reading, though. I love to get comments. I hope you'll stop in again!

Ann - They do resemble grapes somewhat, don't they. I ate from another fruit tree today that is very unusual, and hopefully I will post one of those photos tomorrow.

Farmgirl -
I am moving to Sugarland in a few weeks! Any chance you could send info on a homeschooling group my way?

It'd be great to get a leg up on plugging into the local HS groups!

Thanks!
