Why I Can't Stay Awake Long Enough To Blog...

plus

Okay, maybe it is all in my mind, but this time I seem to be having a lot more "symptoms" than last time. I got my perfect score on this little test at 7:00AM last Friday... only an hour and a half before Dawn and I gave our first conference on Blogging. I begged the husband, "Please, I just don't want to know yet." But he dragged me to Target Thursday night anyway. Amazingly, he was a lot more enthusiastic than I was. I had to apologize later in my prayer journal for my lack of joy. Because I do want to be joyful. Especially about this.

I think I was more shocked than anything - even with the symptoms. My heart was just having a hard time pinning itself to my sleeve again after our sad first day of school last year. So please, if you think about me this Wednesday as I go in for my first doctor appointment, say a prayer for us. My daughter is so excited she can hardly think of anything else. She has already claimed the baby and is going to "keep it in her room". She keeps telling me, "I think it is going to be different this time, mama. Don't worry."

I can tell you one thing... napping has become a daily event in the Bee household. Sometimes it is in the evening, sometimes after lunch... but it isn't a question of IF. Just a question of WHEN. Today after we ate lunch I was so tired I couldn't even make it back up the stairs. I laid down and drooled on the couch pillows while the kids did the dishes. Such is pregnancy in your mid-30's. Maybe Antique Mommy has some advice?

Whatever the reason we have been so blessed, I praise the Lord in advance... no matter how the future plays out. For I trust in Him.

And if you want to read some excellent inspiring praise today, please don't miss Ann Voskamp's ode to our creator over at Holy Experience. Ann is always busy finding the miraculous in the mundane - the opulent in the ordinary. I'm going to try and do some of the same (in-between naps).

I've been lurking...too busy with work to blog much or visit my favorite blogs, but I couldn't resist commenting when your post popped up in my reader!

I too am an antique mommy--my last baby born 13 years after his closest sibling--only a bit more antique than you. :) I was 40 when he was born. Tired doesn't even begin to describe the first half of my pregnancy. I feel your fatigue. To the core.

But I also feel your joy...your anxious thoughts...your hope. I wouldn't change a thing about God's unexpected plan for our family. Despite the fact that I will be homeschooling a 12th grader and a kindergardner next month (with nothing in between) my heart is full of gratitude to the Lord for the precious gift of this little one who has filled our home with such laughter!

I will pray for a safe and healthy pregnancy for you and your little one. And for more energy! God bless!!

This is wonderful! I'm so happy for you. The road you walk for next 9 months will be worrisome. But worth it. A good website for pregnant after a loss is here - http://www.angels4ever.com/pregnant/index.html -

Congratulations!!

Wow, how could you stand to do conference stuff without just bustin' out all over! :-)

Oh my goodness I remember seeing that + sign for the first time! There are no words to describe that feeling. I never had morning sickness but I slept around almost around the clock the first trimester. I didn't have any other kids or obligations I couldn't rearrange, so I didn't even try to fight it - so my advice is nap as much as you can, wherever you can, whenever you can!

Wishing you a safe and joy-filled pregnancy.

Yay!!

The tiredness! Oy! I know how you feel. Just being over 30 at all this time was way different than being pregnant at 20. Get your rest. Whenever you can!

I can understand you worries. My prayer is that God will bring you peace during this time.

Congratulations Spritti! :) I'm so happy for y'all. I just can't wait. Maybe we'll be quite close by the time it's time. :D Morgan and Kaden will be wonderful helpers.

And why does everyone also post this stuff right when I got to bed?? lol

At least I got to know first... well among those first to know. :D

I'm so glad you posted this. I am in the exact same boat as you! I had a miscarriage in March and just found out yesterday I am pregnant again. I feel excited yet nervous at the same time. I'll pray for both of us. :)

Mbr, :) thank you for the prayers!

beckie, :)

Prodoceo, that is great to know about your 13 year stretch... and that I'm not alone in the fatigue. I'm looking forward to the laughter. I still smile often about things my other two kids did and said so many years ago when they were tiny. Thank you for the prayers!

superangel, yes, i can't wait until the bumblebee is here and the labor and delivery are over!

jacque, yeah, that info you had the other day sounded interesting. i am not real knowledgeable about herbs and vitamins. i'm taking kids chewables right now until the doctor appointment tomorrow.

crystal, :) thank you!

mommyp4, thank you for the prayers :)

lorraine, yes, i'm trying not to worry. thanks for the link!

sheri, :) thanks for the prayers!

melanie, the conference was kind of hard to focus on, but we managed. i can't believe we went over our suggested timeframe both times!

antiquemommy, good to know you slept so much! good to also know that it was mostly the first trimester. wish i didn't have to teach 6th and 5th grade while I was napping! LOL Thanks for the well-wishes. I'll be sure to keep up with your site.

sislisa, :) "bringing home a baby bumblebee" :) LOL

renae, thank you so much!

dianne, i appreciate the prayers a lot. i found a doctor, mam! are you not so proud of me? she's younger than I am. LOL

carrie, now i can have a cuteness in my house, too! we can be twinkies.

judy, thank you. great verse! loving that. just what i needed to hear. and being still is easy when you are flat on your face drooling on the pillow!

bagel&39's, boy that is a long name! gracias on the congrats!

Joc, :) i'm happy too - but you haven't seen anything like my super-freak 9 year old daughter that is glowing and bouncing off of everything in the house. kaden said, "i don't want it". but i'm sure he'll come around. he also told me to take morgan back to the hospital when he was 2... but he eventually warmed up to her. sortof.

cocoa, awesome! now i have a prego buddy online. the more the merrier. praying for you, too. it is hard when you have that fear of loss - harder than the usual 'being pregnant', isn't it? thank you for praying. we both will need all the prayers we can get.

Keeping you and your son in prayer. I am an "antique mommmy", too. I love that phrase! It is harder, so do be good to yourself and rest when needed.

Blessings on you and your family. I do so enjoy your blogs.

Certainly I'll be praying for you during this time. Trust in the Lord and only do what must be done, sounds like the kids are willing to help.

Take care, and be joyful!

Girl!! Congratulations! My prayers are with you guys! What fantastic news.

Seeing that picture made me want to curl up and take a nap. I'm not pregnant, though...just old.

Peace,
Cindy.

Love you, girl. Sometimes I get so nauseated and tired at the beginning that I wind up in bed by 8 p.m., and that is so not me.

Take care of yourself!

I KNEW IT! I just *knew* that was the 'news you couldn't share yet'!

I am so happy for you! I was just reading about what happened last year and my heart just breaks for you...I know it must make this time super hard.

David and I have been 'trying' for over eleven and a half years with no pregnancies that we know of. BUT God is Good and we have three adopted children that are incredible. He knows what is best and he works it out in our lives!

I'll be praying for you girl! (I'm trying to not be jealous!):) *Hugs*

I totally know what you are talking about, though, since we are also having a baby this school year. I'm 9 1/2 weeks now and struggling with fatigue, taking my anti-nausea drugs, and fighting hypoglycmia early this time. It'll work out though.

Nikowa - :) Thank you.

socallynn - Thanks for the prayers. I don't know that it is a son yet, though! We are actually kind of hoping for a girl - because I have a ton of hand-me-down girl clothes and the baby will have to share a room with big sister. Thanks for your sweet comments and you better believe I will be getting rest!

Elaine - great advice - trusting in the Lord! Thanks for your prayers.

Kelly - :) Thanks for the prayers.

Brenda - Doc said April fools day! And what's that with the his/his? Everyone seems to be saying BOY. Hmmm? Thanks so much for that awesome prayer. He IS our breath of life.

Stephanie - I love it when lurkers delurk! :) Thanks for leaving a comment. I appreciate your time.

Cindy - :) Thank you KONOS buddy. I'm old, too. Peace to you, too sweetie.

Dawn - Love you, too. You have gone to bed before 8? Get out!

Bev (Pufferfish) - Grazie! Thanks for the prayers.

Melinda - thanks for unlurking yourself. :) I like to get to know the people that stop in (besides maybe the crazy ones that come here from a strange google search). And that would be more than 3/4 of them! LOL

Traci - :) LOL Thanks so much for the comment. Nice to know someone listens to my drivel. Yes, last year was hard. I pray you'll get your plus sign next! But if not, it looks like you already have a super attitude about the babies God has blessed you with through adoption!

KathyD - :) Thank you! Appreciate the prayers!

Joann - you'll have to tell me what you end up finding that works for nausea. A friend told me that the preggy pops are good for milder nausea. She's taking 4 medical anti-nausea pills a day and still throwing up. Poor thing. She's also having identical twins... so it can always be worse! Be glad for what you have - even if it isn't all roses! :)

Karenw - :) Thanks. Good to know I'm not the only 35 year old mom-to-be that feels OLD.

Kim - thanks for sharing your story. I love to hear success stories about women who have kids in their later motherhood years! It seems there are so many now that the odds have really been turned around.

Amy B - :) THANK YOU. Thanks for making me get out of my box. Tell the other Amy the same!

Hey Aunt Jen! So glad to 'meet' you. Your sister is a joy. I bet you are just like her! I'm praying you get a big plus on your next test. May the Lord bless and multiply you. :)

LOL! I didn't even realize that I wrote his/his 'til you said something! hee hee It reminds me of the book that my mom gave my son a couple yrs. ago & in the from part she wrote, from Grandpa & Grandpa B. I get a chuckle out of it every time I read it. hee hee
