CPS Nightmares and Parental Rights

Boy, Kentucky was beautiful, but I'm not so sure I would want to live there after seeing this news article about the state taking children away from their parents without warrant. Social workers are coming forward and admitting that CPS is allowing people to "take orders" for children - and then going in to take them from families.

How would you like to see that in your community? A drive-through kid adoption place where YOUR kids were on the menu? All in the name of state adoption kickbacks or even money under the table. All they need is a faked report called in. Then your kids are theirs and your life is ruined. Sounds like we are talking about a corrupt third-world country, not the USA. Right? Read some of the comments on that post linked up there to hear horror stories that are every bit as scary as a kid drive-through.

Should the state be able to terminate your parental rights so easily?

I think that is one of the reasons the founding fathers stated that we should be able to bear arms. Because of crazy control freaks in power - like an unchecked CPS. No child is safe until we set some standards for CPS that forces them to be under the power of the public. After all, the duty of the people in our government is to HELP and SERVE the people, right? Or do we already live in a communist country? I sure hope not. For the children's sake, I sure hope not.

One of my favorite quotes:

As is often said, no one's property or liberty is safe when the legislature is in session. - Marie Angell

These three would apply, too:

Society attacks early when the individual is helpless. - B. F. SKINNER

It is dangerous to be right when the government is wrong. - VOLTAIRE

Under any conditions, anywhere, whatever you are doing, there is some ordinance under which you can be booked. - ROBERT D. SPRECHT

Wow. I lived in Louisville for 4 years and fortunately, while it's quite liberal in many areas, there is a strong homeschooling network and large influential churches and organizations like Southeast Christian Church and Southern Seminary. I never feared that my kids would be taken away at any time.

It's sad when for social services (which is necessary because there ARE people out there who DO abuse their kids and those kids need to be protected), operate on the bottom line: money. That's the sick part of it all. They've gone beyond helping families and focused more on getting money and pushing their own philosophical agenda.

I have to admit I always have an eye out for what others might think of what they see in our family. We've had contractors in and out every day for 2 weeks, and I am SURE to let them know in some way that the children are on a break from school. I don't want CPS coming to say I don't teach my children. They take them away and then investigate around here.

I agree with the fact that CPS has a baby or kid-drive-thru mentality in a lot of cases. They DO get kick-backs from adopting out children, especially babies, and that is WRONG. I mean, c'mon, how does that encourage keeping families together?

I have seen a shift in our government for the past few years, but especially in the past year to a more socialist agenda.
Have you ever sat and read through The Convention on the Rights of a Child? If that is enacted, it will be commonplace to take children out of the home for their own safety.. especially in the cases of homeschooling, religious beliefs and even non-immunization. It's all child abuse according to the CRC.
The bad thing is that our government has no laws already in place to counteract the CRC, and if enacted, there is no going back.
Communism? Looks like it.
Because they do think that is what is best for our children.
Scary hasn't even started yet. Hold onto the Word and pray. Jesus is the only answer.
Love and HUGS!

I think it all depends on where you live too. In my area, it's hard to get a kid adopted out. a LONG journey. In the state of Cali they have to try to reunify the family first, and that takes a long time. My friend has a young teen girl in her home for foster care. Her mother passed away during reunification. No other living relative, and STILL they wait for adoption. They 'want' to adopt her! No one else to take her and STILL there is a long line of redtape to get her adopted. I also know of homes where CPS *should* go in immediately and get the kids out and they don't. It's much trickier than we think or than the media lets on.
