The 12 Days of Christmas Holidays and Meme-ish-ness

Have you been over to the Homeschool Post lately? There's a shot of my kids behind the Christmas tree and we are giving away a homeschool curriculum tool for math over there. All you have to do is blog about your decorations (including photos) and sign the linky/comment to be entered. There are other ways to gain more entries, too. Check it out!

As for my blog... which desperately needs redesigning...

I know I've been a little slow with the posts over here... but I've been crazy busy with December. Since I've been a blogger nearly four years, it is amazing that I don't just take December OFF - but I find that the most fun way to blog Christmas is with my 12 days meme. I've done it before and it was super fun.

I think I'll do it again this year. Aren't you excited? It should be a lot more interesting using recent photos and my newer camera.

So tomorrow I'll start the 12 Days of Christmas Holidays posts! Yeah, yeah, I know that it will put us ending on December 26th... but technically, Christmas holidays are not over until school starts again in January. And Christmas is every day in your heart... so who cares when we end it?! Each Photo will come with a short caption... or possibly a long story - just depends. There are no rules - do it your own way!

Would you like to play along? I'd love to see your 12 photos for the holidays.

Oh, come on. You know you wanna do this thing. THE LINKY IS BELOW. JUST DO IT.

And here for your re-run pleasure are some past Christmassy links from me (including my 12 days that I did a year or two ago that will give you plenty of ideas for your own participation):

Christmas Meme (including my favorite holiday albums)
Cavalcade of Bad Nativities (you can't miss this funny link)
Gifts and Glitter (a bloggy tour of homes-ish post from 2007)
Becoming All Things to All Men This Christmas (a Christmas Devo I wrote)
Twelve Days of Christmas (scroll down the Dec. 2006 archive for the entirety of them)

What are the rules? How does this work? 1 picture on the first day, 2 on the second? Or 12 pictures all on one day? or...?

Specific theme? Just anything happening that day?

You can do it however you want since there are no rules... but how I did it was one picture per day. I did it just like the song.

On the first day of Christmas....
Day 1
photo - caption - story

Day 2
On the second day of Christmas...

But you can do it backwards and do 12 days from Christmas or you can post it all in one day if you would rather blog other things. :) I don't care. :)

You can even skip a few days if you want and end slower than everyone else.

Ooo, this is so fun! I'm a bit behind, but I'll catch up quick. Love the alien in the dill. Aren't our kids great at entertaining us? Thanks for doing this, Heather!

okay, I've fallen behind in this thing. But I'm hoping to get caught up. I've posted day 3 now. I think I will post 4,5 and maybe 6 together.

I think the twelve days of Christmas is a beautiful way to continue the blessing of Christmas day. Do we receive one picture a day, or do we come to this site and copy a picture a day. And which is actually the first day of Christmas.
