Brushing, Flossing, and Rinsing

#toothbrush

Remember the LISTERINE® and REACH® Oral Care Challenge? Brush, floss, and rinse - twice a day for three weeks? Well...

I wanted to give you an update on how things went... because I figure "inquiring minds want to know", right? I had one person say in the comments that they would be interested to know how things turned out. So here you go, Michelle.

I really tried. I went from flossing twice a year to flossing three or four times a week (so yeah -- I didn't exactly meet the challenge goals - but I consider that progress).

I brushed twice a day, though. And I rinsed every other night before bed.

The kids never really got on board with the challenge... but they did brush and rinse more than usual. Teenagers! And teens with BRACES, at that!

They complained that the braces make it miserable to floss... which I understand entirely. I spent 4 years in them, myself.  I think staying on this challenge as a lifetime healthy habit will help me to be a better example for them (and their younger brothers).

We liked the minty Listerine the best out of all the rinse. I like it WAY better than the ACT rinse my husband had previously.

I've noticed that my gums are less sensitive - which is a good sign. So... even if you don't floss every day - doing it a few times a week is better than nothing.

I may not be a total success story in the Oral Care Challenge department, but I'm glad I took the challenge. I'm liking the way my gums feel more and plan to stick to flossing more often. It really isn't as bad as I used to think.

Did you take the challenge, too? Want to keep it up, too?
